Older Adult Protective Services

The Department of Aging is responsible for oversight and implementation of the Older Adults Protective Services Act (OAPSA) for individuals over the age of 60.

Any person who believes that an older adult is at risk or unsafe as a result of being abused, neglected, exploited or abandoned may make a report to the Lancaster County Office of Aging. 

If you have concerns about possible abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment of an older adult, please call 717 299 7979.

Please tell the operator you need to speak to someone right away abuse.

Office hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm but an operator is available 24 hours a day , 7 days a week to direct calls regarding abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment.
