Personal Care Homes

Services Provided

Personal care homes are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of  Human Services to provide a variety of services, including:

  • Assistance with dressing, bathing, and diet control
  • Cleaning
  • Laundry
  • Meals
  • Supervision

They do not provide services which must be performed by registered nurses or other licensed medical staff.

Low Income Consumers

Some personal care homes may accept a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit on behalf of lower income consumers. To apply for the SSI supplement, an assessment must initially be conducted by the Office of Aging.

Personal Care Home List

If you are interested in personal care, please view the Personal Care Home List (PDF). The facilities that appear on this list are all fully licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Although every effort has been made by the Office of Aging to provide sufficient information on the different personal care facilities in Lancaster County, this list is not intended to be exhaustive or all-inclusive. The list will be revised periodically and the information updated accordingly.

Similarly, this list is not meant to be evaluative. Inclusion of a facility on this list does not imply endorsement of that facility by the Lancaster County Office of Aging.
