HEALTH AND WELLNESS CLASSES AND ACTVIITIES

In accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Lancaster County Office of Aging’s mission for the Health and Wellness program is to promote healthier lifestyles among older Pennsylvanians through the implementation of evidence-based programs. Evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs reduce the need for more costly medical interventions, support older adults in making lifestyle changes to improve their health and empower older adults with the information they need to age well.

Virtual Connection Senior Center

Our virtual Senior Center, LCOA Virtual Connections, offers Lancaster County residents age 60+ an opportunity to connect with other seniors to play games, create art, learn a musical instrument, exercise, or learn new information. Our center offers FREE programs Monday thru Friday. Participants must have reliable internet service, a computer, laptop or a tablet and ZOOM downloaded on the device. If an eligible senior is interested in registering for the center, call Debbie Groff at Lancaster County Office of Aging 717-299-7979 or email  dgroff@lancastercountypa.gov .  Over the telephone, our staff enters registration information with the participant. We also give step by step guidance on how to use the portal to enter classes, access the schedule and preregister for art classes.

Senior Center Volunteers Needed

Do you have a special talent you would like to share? Are you knowledgeable about a topic that you would like to present? Can you provide entertainment in the form of music, arts and crafts, or other activities? Lancaster County Senior Centers are looking for new and engaging programs. If you’re interested in providing an activity, or simply want to share an idea or suggestion, please contact Ellen Weekes  at 717-299-7979.

Donations

For any individual wishing to honor the memory of a loved one or make a lasting impression of support for a senior center of their choice, memorial gifts and bequests are gratefully accepted. There is no charge for any center service; however, donations to offset operational expenses are appreciated.

Transportation

Transportation is available upon request. To reserve a meal or arrange for transportation, please call the senior center by 10 a.m. the day before you plan to attend.
